State of Survival Beginner’s Guide Part 1: Master the Apocalypse Basics
Welcome to the Empire Build Academy! I’m Favian, and today we’re diving into the State of Survival Beginner’s Guide Part 1. This blog (and video) will walk you through the early game, showcasing what unlocks as you play. Let’s jump into the PC version and get started!
Introduction to State of Survival
If you’re new to the channel, I’m Favian, your guide to mastering strategy games—both new and classic. Expect more game guides here, so subscribe and drop your tips in the comments! We’re starting fresh with State of Survival, a FunPlus title (like King of Avalon and Guns of Glory), and I’ll explore its early mechanics on PC.
Getting Started: Initial Setup and Interface
Upon launching, you meet Maddie in the intro. I turned off audio (no volume control available) for a smoother experience. Here’s what to know:
Power: Starts at 5,541 (top left), reflecting your progress.
Profile: Includes your monarch avatar and stats.
Bottom Menu: Archive, Talent, Stats, Troops, Rankings, Powerup, Settings. Click around to learn:
Talents: Earn points by leveling your monarch to boost stats.
Stats: Tracks wins/losses.
Troops: Shows your army composition.
Rankings: Unlocks at Headquarters Level 8 (easy to reach).
Powerup: Offers bundles (e.g., construction boosts)—explore these.
Settings: Disable gear display for privacy, adjust notifications.
Customize Your Name
You start as “Survivor 293302”—change it! I switched to “Favian ATBA” to improve alliance acceptance. Two characters per state are allowed.
Following the Prologue: Early Missions
The prologue (Part 1 of 4) guides beginners perfectly. Start with:
Clean Up Settlement: Clear debris 4 times (2/4 initially). Click to complete—easy!
Explore Warehouse: A mini-fight challenge. Deploy turrets, skip animations, and claim rewards.
Fix Warehouse: Your first building upgrade, completed with basic supplies.
Upgrade Headquarters: Reach Level 2 (requires Warehouse Level 2 first), using food and wood.
Skip cutscenes unless you enjoy the story—I focus on gameplay progression.
Unlocking Heroes and Troops
Rusty: Your first hero, assigned to ease fights. Level him strategically.
Troop Types: Explore the Barracks to unlock infantry (e.g., Grunts, Heavies). Train them to strengthen your army.
Hero Upgrades: Use manuals (books) to level heroes. Prioritize gold heroes (e.g., Maddie, Frank) over blues like Rusty unless necessary. Upgrade cadets with fragments for power boosts.
My power hit 29,636 after upgrades—progress is key!
Early Purchases: 99 Diamond Offer
FunPlus offers a 99-diamond pack (~$0.99) for a hero (e.g., Lucky) and 5,000 bio caps. It’s a solid early boost, but avoid bigger packs until you research value via alliances. First purchases get 20% off (e.g., 500 diamonds drop from $4.29 to $3.43)—consider a small pack off-screen.
Building and Resource Management
Upgrades: Green arrows on buildings (e.g., Headquarters, Warehouse) indicate upgradable levels. Use food/wood to hit Level 2+.
Resources: Clear infected areas for food/wood. Train troops while waiting.
Events: Red-dot boxes (e.g., 1,000 draws) offer free spins (won gas!)—use SS coins for more.
Advanced Tips and Next Steps
Solo Tasks: Scout wilderness for rewards, but check requirements (e.g., Level 20 hero).
Intel Post: Unlocks challenges with rewards—fix it after gathering items.
Hospital: Build to heal troops, placing buildings freely early on.
Part 2 will feature more buildings and progress. Watch for event guides and hero strategies in future videos!

Progress Update: Chapter 3, Part 2
Since Part 1, we’ve advanced to Chapter 3, Part 2 (5 of 7) on the PC version. The chapter guide advises completing Research Attack Tactics 2 and Defense Formations 2. Here’s how:
Research Lab: Start with Shield Improvement (Level 1) under Attack Tactics. With alliance help, it completes instantly. Attack Tactics 2 (29 minutes) and Defense Formations 2 (16 minutes) drop quickly with active alliance support—mine reduced 7 minutes in seconds!
Alliance Shift: I was booted from my top alliance (Phoenix) but joined a new one. Top 3 alliances offer the best help for tasks like these.
Optimizing Your City Layout
You can rearrange buildings! Group resource spots (e.g., farms, mines) and troop buildings (e.g., Barracks) for efficiency. I’m adjusting mine now—e.g., moving a resource building to the edge. This organization pays off as your city grows.
Joining Rallies and Events
Rallies: Join alliance rallies (e.g., 143,000/166,000 capacity) for free stamina. Act fast—they fill up quick in active alliances!
Events Overload: The top bar is packed with events (e.g., reward tiers, hero hunts). My motto? “Press buttons” to explore. Click question marks for rules—e.g., the first tier is free, but the next costs 99 gems (watch for auto-purchases!).
Hero Hunt: A 5-day task offers Jane’s fragments (120 points unlocks her). VIP 5 adds Maddie/Frank fragments—aim for that if possible.
Research and Intel Missions
Research Completion: March Capacity 2 and other basics are done with alliance help. Focus on early buffs like attack and defense.
Intel Missions: Access via the Intel Post or chapter menu. Complete easy tasks (e.g., 16,527 recommended strength vs. my 309,186) for rewards. Use auto-mode (times 3 speed) to breeze through mini-games—hero skills (e.g., ammo, paint barrels) add flair.
Packs and Rewards
Limited Packs: The 99-diamond Lucky hero purchase boosted my team, but I accidentally spent 99 gems on an event without warning. Avoid unless intentional!
Reward Center: Claim free rewards to stockpile resources.
Fountain of Dreams: Select 3 free items (e.g., legendary skill book, bio caps) from S, A, and B tiers. Premium pools offer dice for events—great value!
Unlocking New Heroes
With 40 Jane fragments and 12 Eva fragments, I unlocked both. Prioritize gold heroes (e.g., Maddie) over blues, saving exp for top-tier units. Craft gear (e.g., camouflage armor) to enhance heroes like Eva.
What’s Next?
Chapter Push: I’ll advance to Chapter 4+ off-screen, unlocking more buildings.
Construction Guide: Next video will overview all buildings with info clicks.
Future Steps: Research, troops, and events guides follow the 9-step plan.

This 36-minute video (edited for brevity) sets the stage. See you in the next guide—thanks for watching!
Step 1: Choosing the Right Faction
Choosing the right faction is a crucial decision that will impact your gameplay experience in State of Survival. Each faction offers unique bonuses and benefits that can greatly enhance your survival chances. Do you prefer a faction that excels in combat? Or perhaps one that specializes in resource gathering? Consider your playstyle and objectives before making a decision.
To choose the right faction, you need to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Some factions may have powerful combat bonuses but lack in resource gathering abilities. On the other hand, some factions may excel in research and development, allowing you to unlock powerful technologies. Consider your long-term goals and choose a faction that aligns with your strategy.
Once you have chosen a faction, it's time to start building and upgrading your settlement.
Step 2: Building and Upgrading Your Settlement
Your settlement is your lifeline in State of Survival. It is where you will build and upgrade various structures to support your survival efforts. The first thing you need to do is establish your headquarters, which will serve as the centre of your operations. From there, you can construct additional buildings such as farms, barracks, and hospitals.
Each building serves a specific purpose and provides unique benefits. Farms, for example, generate food, while barracks allow you to train and upgrade your troops. It's important to prioritize your building upgrades based on your current needs. For example, if you are low on food, focus on upgrading your farms to increase food production.
Additionally, don't forget to fortify your settlement against zombie attacks. Build walls and defensive structures to protect your resources and ensure the safety of your survivors. Upgrading your walls and defences will make it harder for zombies to breach your settlement.
Now that your settlement is up and running, it's time to focus on gathering resources and managing your economy.
Step 3: Gathering Resources and Managing Your Economy
In the post-apocalyptic world of State of Survival, resources are scarce and essential for survival. There are several resources you need to manage, including food, water, wood, metal, and gas. Each resource plays a vital role in different aspects of the game, from training troops to upgrading buildings.
To gather resources, you can send your troops on gathering missions or occupy resource tiles on the map. Each resource tile provides a specific type of resource, so choose your targets wisely based on your current needs. Additionally, you can also trade resources with other players through the marketplace.
Managing your economy is crucial to ensure a steady supply of resources. Keep an eye on your resource production and consumption rates. If you find yourself running low on a particular resource, adjust your production accordingly. Investing in research and development can also help improve your resource production efficiency.
A well-managed economy will provide you with the resources you need to train and upgrade your troops, which brings us to the next step: training and upgrading your troops.
Step 4: Training and Upgrading Your Troops
In State of Survival, your troops are your first line of defence against the zombie hordes. Training and upgrading your troops is essential to survive and thrive in this post-apocalyptic world. There are several types of troops, each with its strengths and weaknesses. It's important to build a balanced army that can handle different types of threats.
To train troops, you need to have enough resources and training facilities. Upgrade your barracks to unlock higher-tier troops and increase your training capacity. Additionally, don't forget to research technologies that enhance your troops' combat abilities.
Upgrading your troops is equally important. As you progress in the game, you will unlock new technologies and upgrades that will make your troops more powerful. Invest in upgrading your troops to increase their combat effectiveness and survivability.
With a well-trained and upgraded army, you're ready to explore the map and complete missions.
Step 5: Exploring the Map and Completing Missions
The map in State of Survival is vast and filled with opportunities and dangers. Exploring the map will allow you to discover valuable resources, encounter other players, and complete missions and quests. Completing missions is a great way to earn rewards and progress in the game.
When exploring the map, be mindful of the zombie hordes that roam the wasteland. Engaging in combat with zombies can be risky, especially if you are ill-prepared. Make sure your troops are adequately trained and equipped before taking on challenging missions.
Additionally, keep an eye out for other players. Forming alliances and cooperating with fellow survivors can greatly enhance your chances of survival. Participate in events and team up with other players to tackle difficult challenges and earn valuable rewards.
Speaking of alliances and events, let's move on to the next step: forming alliances and participating in events.

ALLIANCES AND EVENTS
Step 6: Forming Alliances and Participating in Events
Surviving the zombie apocalypse is a daunting task, but you don't have to do it alone. Forming alliances with other players is a crucial part of State of Survival. Joining an alliance provides several benefits, including access to alliance technologies, protection from enemy attacks, and the ability to participate in alliance events.
Alliance events are special events that allow you to earn unique rewards and compete against other alliances. Participating in these events is a great way to test your skills and teamwork while earning valuable resources and items.
When forming or joining an alliance, make sure to choose one that aligns with your goals and playstyle. Communicate and coordinate with your alliance members to maximize your collective strength and increase your chances of survival.
Now that you have mastered the basics, it's time to dive into advanced strategies for dominating the game.
Step 7: Advanced Strategies for Dominating the Game
As you become more experienced in State of Survival, it's time to fine-tune your strategies and take your gameplay to the next level. Here are some advanced strategies to consider:
- Focus on research and development: Unlocking advanced technologies will give you a significant advantage over other players. Invest in research and development to unlock powerful upgrades and bonuses.
- Participate in competitive events: Engage in competitive events to test your skills against other players and alliances. These events offer valuable rewards and a chance to prove your dominance.
- Keep an eye on the world chat: The world chat is a great place to connect with other players, get valuable tips, and stay up to date with the latest developments in the game. Don't underestimate the power of networking and collaboration.
- Plan your attacks strategically: When engaging in combat, plan your attacks carefully. Assess the enemy's defences, scout their settlement, and coordinate with your alliance members for maximum impact.
