Upgrading your Warehouse is essential for maximizing resource protection. For example, at Level 36, the Warehouse protects 100 million resources across all types. Bump it up to Level 37, and you’ll see a significant jump to 120 million resources protected—a 20% increase!

Higher levels mean more resources stay safe, allowing you to focus on building your empire without worrying about losses.

Buffs and Requirements: A Senior Warehouse Officer provides superior buffs compared to a Medium Warehouse Officer. To assign one, the General must have a Defense of 1,150 and an Attack of 1,100. Check the Change menu to see available Generals and their buffs.

Choosing the Right General: The game lists potential Generals you can assign, with Super Generals offering the best buffs. Experiment with different Generals to optimize your Warehouse’s performance.

However, they are vulnerable to ground troops, which deal 20% additional damage to ranged units. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for effective army composition.

3. Upgrading the Archer Camp

Upgrading your Archer Camp unlocks higher-tier ranged troops and provides buffs, such as +5% ranged troop defense at certain levels.

Check the “Details” tab to see which troop tiers unlock at each level and the corresponding buffs.

4. Duty General Officer

Assigning a Duty General (like John of Portugal) to your Archer Camp grants additional bonuses, such as increased training speed or enhanced troop stats.

Resource Requirements: Check the resources needed to train your desired number of troops (e.g., 29,000 Winter Palace Cavalry) and the time it takes to complete.

Troop Breakdown: Click the information icon to view detailed stats for your mounted troops, including strengths and weaknesses. For example:Strengths: Mounted troops counter ground troops with a 20% damage buff.

Weaknesses: They take 20% additional damage from ranged troops, which is why the game often emphasizes cavalry-heavy defense and ranged-heavy attack strategies.

1. Train: Building Your Siege Machine Army

The Train tab is where you create your siege machines, ranging from Tier 1 (T1) to the highest tier you’ve unlocked. For example, if you’ve reached Tier 14, you can train advanced units like Armed Catapults.

Here’s what you need to know:

Troop Details: Click the information button next to each siege machine to view its stats, including buffs and damage modifiers. Siege machines counter each other, dealing 50% increased damage to opposing siege units.

Inventory Check: The Workshop shows how many units you own. For instance, you might have 19,990 Level 10 siege machines ready for battle.

Dismissing Troops: If you no longer need certain units (e.g., T14 siege machines), go to the Train tab, click the information button, and select the Dismiss option to remove them.

Pro Tip: Regularly check your troop tiers and dismiss outdated units to optimize your army’s strength.

2. Duty: Boosting Siege Machines with Generals

The Duty tab allows you to assign a Duty General or Officer General to your Workshop, granting additional buffs to your siege machines. For example, assigning a general like Guan Royal can provide unique stat boosts, enhancing your siege units’ performance in combat.

What is the Shrine?

The Shrine is a central building in Evony where players can offer tributes to unlock valuable rewards, boost resource production, and gain prestige. Upgrading your Shrine increases the benefits, including higher resource production, longer boost durations, and more prestige points. Let’s break down its key features.

How to Access and Use the Shrine

To get started, locate the Shrine in your city and click on it. You’ll see several options, including:

Details: View the benefits of upgrading your Shrine, such as increased resource production, boost time, and prestige rewards at different levels.

Daily Rewards: Claim rewards every day when you log into Evony. Forgot to claim? Head to the Shrine to collect them manually.

Offer: Offer gems as tributes to boost one of your resource productions, gain monarch experience, and earn prestige. The tribute effect doesn’t stack, but the duration does.

Poem of History: Unlock additional rewards at the start of a server. Note that this feature is completed early in the game and has no further use later.

Maximizing Tribute Rewards

When you offer gems as tributes, you gain monarch experience, prestige, and a temporary boost to one resource type. For example, offering 400 gems might grant 240 prestige points and a resource boost. As you offer more tributes, the gem cost increases (e.g., 600 gems for 300 prestige points), so plan strategically if you’re aiming to climb the rankings.

After seven tributes, the next round of 7-day daily rewards is upgraded, but your tribute count resets to zero. Additionally, offering tributes 20 times unlocks the King’s Protection buff, which provides:

+20% Range Troop Attack

+20% Siege Machine Attack

+20% Mounted Troop Defense

+20% Ground Troop Defense

Track your progress by checking your total prestige points, displayed at the top of the Shrine interface. For instance, accumulating 16 million prestige points could rank you as a Duke, with benefits tied to your VIP level.

Understanding Prestige and Rankings

Prestige is a cumulative score that grows as you offer tributes and play on a server. It determines your rank, which comes with unique buffs and benefits. To check your rank and required prestige, navigate to the Shrine’s Rankings section and select Rank Ranking. Here’s a quick overview of ranks:

Regent: Requires 3 million prestige (3 positions available)

Archduke: 10 positions available

Duke: 40 positions available

Knight: 2,000 positions available, suitable for most players

For example, with 16 million prestige points, you might rank in the top 40 (e.g., 30th place). To reach the top 10, you’d need over 25 million prestige, which requires significant gem investment and dedication. Higher VIP levels, such as VIP 17, unlock exclusive ranks like Honorary Duke.

Tips for Climbing the Shrine Rankings

Strategize Gem Usage: If you’re close to a higher rank, consider investing gems to offer more tributes. For example, offering 400 gems for 240 prestige points can help you edge closer to the next rank.

Monitor Daily Rewards: Log in daily to claim rewards and avoid missing out on free resources.

Upgrade Your Shrine: Higher Shrine levels unlock better rewards and boosts, giving you an edge in resource production.

Taxing: At higher Market levels, you can collect free taxes multiple times. For example, at level 37, you can tax resources up to 12 times for free. Each tax action provides a batch of resources, such as food, based on your selection. In my case, I have 18 free tax chances, which can yield significant resource gains when used wisely.

Upgrading the Market: Upgrading your Market increases tax rewards and unlocks more features. For instance, moving from level 37 to 38 boosts your tax gains, as shown in the "More Information" section of the game. Check this section to see what each upgrade level offers.

Pro Tip: Prioritize upgrading your Market to maximize resource gains and tax opportunities.

2. Black Market: Exclusive Deals for Gems and Resources

The Black Market is where you can score valuable items, such as stamina or speedups, using gems or resources.

Here’s how it works:

Purchasing Items: Common purchases include stamina packs (e.g., 3,000 stamina) to keep your gameplay active. I often grab these as stamina tends to run out quickly.

Refresh Chances: You get free refreshes (e.g., two free refreshes at my level) to cycle through new item selections. If you run out, you can spend gems to refresh the Black Market inventory.

Rebuy Chances: Each item comes with a limited number of rebuy chances (e.g., five chances per item). These allow you to repurchase the same item multiple times, but each rebuy is for a single item, not the entire batch. For example, after buying stamina, I had four rebuy chances left for that specific item.

Pro Tip: Use the instant refresh button strategically to find high-value items like stamina or rare resources.

3. Duty General: Boosting Market Efficiency

The Market Building supports the assignment of a Duty General, an officer who enhances the building’s performance with special buffs. While we’ll cover Duty Generals in detail in a future guide, know that assigning one to your Market can amplify your resource gains and efficiency.

The Auction House is a dynamic feature where players from different servers compete to bid on exclusive items, such as speedups or rare resources.

Bidding Process: Items start at a base price (e.g., 3,000 gems for speedups). You can place a higher bid (e.g., 5,000 gems), and other players can counter with even higher bids.

Cross-Server Competition: You’re bidding against players from your server and others, making auctions highly competitive.

Availability: Auctions appear periodically, typically every couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for them.

Unfortunately, auctions aren’t always active, so I couldn’t show an example in-game. However, when available, they’re a great way to snag rare items by outbidding competitors.

Pro Tip: Save up gems for auctions to secure high-value items that can accelerate your progress.

The initiator general must be:

Level 35 or higher.

Fully ascended to 5-star.

All four original specialties maxed out.

Only generals with the same tag can be bound (e.g., two cavalry generals).

Legendary historic generals cannot be bound.

Each binding requires Binding Essence, a rare resource typically found in premium packs.

How Soul Binding Works:

The acceptor general inherits the initiator’s:

Advanced Refining: Once you achieve gold-level refines on all four slots of a piece of equipment, you unlock advanced refining. This allows you to use daily chances (e.g., 50 chances) and refine stones to boost buffs further. For instance, refining a piece of the Koryo Set can increase your troop attack buff to 19% at level 34, with incremental improvements like an additional 0.5% per refine.

Pro Tip: While the game may display a cost (e.g., 25,000 gold for refining), this is often not deducted, making refining a cost-effective way to enhance your gear.
