Meet the Royal Champion, the fantastic fourth Hero in your Home Village! She packs a punch with her moderately high DPS and has just the right amount of health to hold her own in battle. Plus, she's all about taking down those pesky defences to help your army succeed.

Not only can she leap over Walls like a pro (just like the Hog Rider!), but she also has a killer move where she throws her spear from a distance to attack enemy buildings. How cool is that?

Once you've built the Royal Champion Altar at Town Hall level 13, she'll be automatically summoned to join your team. And just like our other awesome Heroes, you only need to summon her once. But if she takes a beating in battle, she'll need some time to regen that health before jumping back into action.

And don't worry about upgrading her in the Laboratory - your trusty Builder will take care of all her upgrades.

Similar to other heroes, the Royal Champion will protect the village unless she is regenerating health from a previous battle. She will only defend the area near her altar and will back off if led too far away. If the village is under attack while she is regenerating health, her altar will be unguarded. If she is injured or vanquished during defence, she won't need to heal afterwards. Just keep an eye on her health and positioning to maximize her defensive efforts!

In the Home Village, hero regeneration works like having an "extra life"! After fully healing, the Royal Champion will have two life bars. The first bar is shown next to her level, while the second one (the "extra life") is indicated by a heart at the end of the first bar. And guess what? It even shows a "+1" when the extra life is full!

When the Royal Champion attacks, any damage she takes first comes out of her extra life bar. Her regular life bar only goes down once the extra life bar is empty. If the Royal Champion loses all her health, her regular life bar will be depleted. If she has a full extra life bar when this happens, it will be used up first.

The Royal Champion is a powerhouse with decent health and high damage output, making her a perfect choice for taking down enemy defences alongside the Archer Queen. It's important to keep her protected as she obliterates enemy structures.

As a Hero, the Royal Champion has a special ability that can be used once per battle. Her base ability allows her to regenerate some health, and the equipment she carries can enhance this ability even further. Starting with the Royal Gem and Seeking Shield, she gains additional effects as she levels up, including increased health regeneration every fifth level. So be sure to use her ability strategically to keep her in the fight!

The Royal Gem gives the Royal Champion a big boost in healing when she activates her ability.

With the Seeking Shield ability, the Royal Champion can throw a shield that targets defences first. It hits four targets with a lot of damage, no matter how far away they are.

The Hog Rider Puppet calls in some Hog Riders to help out.

Using the Haste Vial makes the Royal Champion faster and stronger for a short time.

On top of all that, the Royal Champion has a cool Epic Equipment called the Rocket Spear. When she uses it, she can attack from further away for a few shots.

If the Royal Champion hasn't used her ability yet and she's close to being defeated, don't worry! Her ability will kick in automatically to save the day. But if you prefer to have more control, you can always turn off this feature in the settings by toggling "Automatically use Hero Abilities on KO."

She's a smart cookie when it comes to protecting the village! If there's a defence nearby, she'll make a beeline for it, no matter what other buildings are around. She might not see the Clan Castle as a defence, even if troops come out of it, but she'll definitely go after a high-level Town Hall or the Grand Warden.

But here's the twist - if she spots a hero, Clan Castle troops, or pesky Skeleton Trap Skeletons trying to cause trouble, she'll drop everything and deal with them first. Once they're taken care of, she's back to smashing defences or whatever's left standing. That's one determined warrior!

Effective Attack Strategies

Each of the four heroes in the Home Village has a specific role in battles. The Archer Queen excels at dealing damage, the Barbarian King is great at absorbing hits, the Grand Warden offers support, and the Royal Champion specializes in defence.

To maximize their effectiveness, deploy the Royal Champion behind the Barbarian King so he can take the hits while she deals the damage.

The Seeking Shield ability is especially useful for taking out weak defences like the Mortar and Hidden Tesla with just one hit, allowing the Royal Champion to create optimal paths for your troops.

Just be cautious when sending her into battle without much support, as this risky move is known as a 'death mission' or 'sui' Champion.

Just like how the Archer Queen can benefit from having Healers by her side in an Archer Queen Walk, the Royal Champion can also be accompanied by multiple Healers in a Royal Champion Walk. However, since the Royal Champion has a shorter range, the Healers might get within range of Air Defences more easily.

This strategy can be helpful in clearing out outer buildings before launching the main attack, similar to how it works with the Archer Queen.

Have the Royal Champion join the main pack of a hybrid (Hog Riders and Miners) to take advantage of their tanking abilities and deal massive damage to defences. She can also target heroes that are attacking the pack and will stick with them as they focus on defences. Plus, she'll keep the pack safe from defending air Clan Castle troops.

For optimal results, wait to deploy her until the main army is losing steam and reaching the back-end defences. Timing is key – deploying her too early could lead to a quick defeat. A smart way to do this is by using a Siege Barracks filled with Hog Riders and then adding the Royal Champion when they're deployed.

When at a sufficiently high level, she can single-handedly take on and destroy the Town Hall's Giga Tesla/Giga Inferno if it is alone in a compartment, provided that she does not get distracted by anything else in doing so. Keeping a Rage Spell on hand can help ensure that the Town Hall gets taken down in this manner, and can be used if the Royal Champion is low-levelled.

Her Seeking Shield ability can also get rid of any Hidden Teslas that might appear to protect the Town Hall in such compartments. However, if the ability is used before the Teslas appear, it will not target the Teslas, so time it wisely.

If you're facing a tough Inferno Tower in Clash of Clans, try using one Earthquake Spell and two Lightning Spells to take it down quickly and efficiently. This strategy won't cost you too much if you use the spells wisely.

Remember, you don't always have to use your hero's ability in battle. If you save it for later, your hero will automatically recover health equal to the ability recovery after the battle.

Just be careful if you let your hero's hitpoints get low to trigger her ability. Her shield throwing animation takes a few seconds to finish, so if she's taking heavy damage (especially from a single-target Inferno Tower), she might not survive long enough to use the ability effectively. Keep an eye on her health and make strategic decisions to maximize your hero's potential in battle.

Protective Measures

When defending against the Royal Champion, it's important to think strategically about where she may be deployed. Boost your defences in those areas with high DPS defences, as she is a bit frail in terms of health.

For your outer defences, consider using splash defences to counteract the Royal Champion's common partnership with Siege Barracks and Hogs.

Additionally, deploy lower power defences like Cannons, Mortars, or Archer Towers to absorb seeking shields and protect your more valuable defences. These weaker defences can also buy some time by stalling the Royal Champion.

To counteract the Royal Champion's slow spear-throwing speed, consider using Skeleton Traps to distract her for an extended period of time. Placing them near a single-target Inferno Tower can be particularly effective.

Remember that defending against any troop or hero is about defending the strategies they are commonly used in. In the case of the Royal Champion, that means being prepared for Hybrid and Lalo attacks. While these strategies are popular, the Royal Champion's role within them varies, so be sure to adjust your defences accordingly.

Facing a Royal Champion

If you're up against a Royal Champion in Clash of Clans, don't worry! You've got this. To take her down, try using multiple troops or ones with high damage. She attacks slowly and doesn't have as much health as other troops, so you have the advantage.

Try dropping a Poison Spell near her to slow down her attacks even more. This will give your troops the upper hand in battle. Another option is to use Lightning Spells to defeat her, especially if there are other important buildings nearby like the Eagle Artillery or Scattershot.

If you have troops that target defences, you can try to quickly move past the Royal Champion to avoid her attacks. It's a good strategy, but be careful - it could be risky if you fail or if your troops slow down while she's still around. Stay calm and you'll come out on top!

Hero Equipment

When the Royal Champion is on the attack, she can use two pieces of Hero Equipment from the options listed below. These items will give her new abilities and boost her stats. Please note that the Royal Champion does not utilize any Hero Equipment while defending.
