Introduction
Is it not exciting to delve deep into the world where dragons rule, and empires rise and fall? For all fans of the strategic game, Game of Thrones Conquest, this piece promises a thrilling ride into the world of armies and their immense powers. It not only showcases the type of troops but also their unique abilities. Ready to acquire the Iron Throne?
Infantry — The Creating Shield
The infantry always forms the crux of any army, right? The same applies to Game of Thrones Conquest. Infantry troops are your front-line warriors, soaked heavily in the blood of your enemies. Skilled in both offense and defence, they form the first line of resistance against any attack.
Ranged – The Rain of Terror
Ever heard the phrase "attack is the best form of defence"? That's precisely what ranged troops in Game of Thrones Conquest are all about. With their long-range attack abilities, they can strike the enemy even before they approach. Who doesn't want an army that can kill from a distance?
Cavalry – Speed is Their Prowess
What's an army without the cavalry? The cavalry troops are absolutely unmatched when it comes to speed. These speedy soldiers dart around the battlefield, causing immense destruction. Their speed allows them to attack quickly and retreat, causing damage while staying relatively safe.
Siege – Pierce through Enemy Defenses
Lastly, we have the siege troops. These soldiers are specifically trained to lead assaults on enemy fortifications. They primarily act as massive, mobile artillery. Pretty impressive, huh?
Upgrade your Troops
Did you know you can upgrade your troops in Game of Thrones Conquest? Be it infantry, ranged, or siege troops, each troop type can be upgraded to unlock new abilities. More power equals a higher chance of success, right?

DETAILED TROOPS OVERVIEW
Troop Statistics
To get more information about your troops, check out the stats screen. Simply click on any troop training building, choose a troop, and then click the stats button on the top left.
Once you do, you'll see this screen:

This screen has all the info you need on this specific troop type's strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. The icons on the left break down the troop’s stats, while the list at the bottom details its traits.
Let's break down the troop stats:
Power: This number gives you a general idea of how strong the troop is. It's a quick way to compare forces, but keep in mind that it doesn't consider any bonuses or traits in play. For example, the sell-sword we're looking at has the Fortitude trait, which gives them an advantage against cavalry. Even if facing a cavalry troop with the same power, the sell-sword would still come out on top!
Attack: This stat shows how much damage your troop can deal in battle.
Defence: This stat shows how well your troop can defend against incoming attacks.
Health: This stat shows how much damage your troop can take before getting hurt or knocked out.
Speed: This stat determines how fast your troops move and gather resources.
Load: This stat shows how many resources your troop can bring back from their missions.
Remember to send enough troops to carry all the resources you collect!
Range: The range stat shows how far this troop can fight effectively. While all Infantry have a range of 1, different archers and cavalry might have longer ranges. Troops with a higher range can deal more damage to troops with a lower range.
Upkeep: Upkeep represents how much food is needed to keep this troop active. Remember, an army marches on its stomach!
Note: Troops will only consume food that is not in your Storehouse or inventory. Keep that food stocked to keep your troops fed.
Wall Damage: This stat shows how much damage this troop can do to Keep walls. Only Siege troops can damage walls, so other troop types will always have a wall damage score of 0.

TYPES OF TROOPS
In Game of Thrones: Conquest, you'll find various troop types like Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry, with Siege and Trap options too. Each troop type operates differently, adding strategic depth to gameplay.
Think of the troop types like a game of Rock Paper Scissors - Infantry beats Cavalry, Cavalry beats Ranged, and Ranged beats Infantry. It's all about understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each type to plan your battles wisely!
In battle, different factors can influence the outcome, but all things being equal, Infantry will usually defeat Cavalry in combat. Siege engines and Traps operate differently than troops and will be discussed further in this guide.
Game of Thrones: Conquest offers numerous ways to enhance your troops, such as gear, Dragon talents, Maester’s Tower research, and consumable boosts. It's a good idea to choose one or two troop types to invest in early on for maximum effectiveness.
Infantry:

When you want to persuade your fellow Nobles to see things your way, having a team of tough men armed with swords can be super helpful. Infantry soldiers have a natural edge over Cavalry. They are great at defence, but they do tend to be a bit slow—which might not make them the best choice for resource gathering missions.
RANGED:

When facing off against your enemies, having a team of archers can be a sneaky and clever strategy rather than just rushing in with a bunch of soldiers. But as any noble ruler can tell you, relying on sneakiness can only get you so far. Archers are great at taking down infantry units, even though they might not have the strongest defence. They may not be the fastest troops either, but their advantage against infantry and the variety of gear they can use makes them a valuable asset on the battlefield.
CAVALRY:

Cavalry units have a big advantage in terms of speed and mobility compared to other units. This makes them perfect for long marches or missions that require quick gathering. After all, having a big army won't do you any good if you can't get them where they're needed, when they're needed.
Cavalry units also have impressive attack stats! However, they can be a bit vulnerable when facing Infantry, so make sure to be strategic in how and where you deploy them.
SIEGE:

Siege weapons are a bit different from the classic "Rock-Paper-Scissors" troop types. They have super high Range, Health, and Load stats, but there's a catch - they're not great at battling other troops like cavalry or infantry. That's because siege weapons, like catapults and ballistae, are meant to take down walls and traps, not rival armies. So while they may not excel in regular combat, they're essential for breaking through fortress defences and clearing out enemy traps. Keep that in mind when strategizing your next battle!
TRAPS:

Traps may not be troops in the traditional sense, but they play a vital role in defending your Keep. They have similar stats and are built in a similar way, so it's important to include them in your defensive strategy. While traps can't be sent on marches or operate autonomously, a few well-placed ones can work wonders in protecting your Keep. When you're under attack, traps act as troops to fend off the enemy. Each type of trap is designed to target a specific type of attacking troop—Scalding Oil for Infantry, Bolts for Ranged, and Wood Spikes for Cavalry.
Remember, traps may defend your Keep like troops, but they can't fight on their own. They rely on troops to activate them, so make sure you have soldiers to set them off when the time comes!
CONCLUSION AND YOUTUBE VIDEO
WHICH TROOPS SHOULD YOU USE?
When it comes to boosting your troops' combat abilities, there are so many options to consider. To make the most of your resources, it's best to focus on a specific area for improvement. By doing some research in the Maester's Tower or selecting the right piece of gear, you can turn the tide in a battle. However, some upgrades require a lot of investment, so how do you decide which troops to prioritize?
Keep an eye on your Kingdom: By doing a little digging, you might notice that some players in your Kingdom prefer one type of Troop over another. For example, if you're in a Kingdom where many players focus on Cavalry, you might want to consider focusing on Infantry instead.
Think about your surroundings: You'll likely be battling it out with nearby players, so if you're surrounded by players with Ranged-heavy armies, Cavalry could be a good choice for you.
Consider your Allegiance: When teaming up with other players, it's important to think about the types of troops they prefer. If your Allegiance doesn't have many players investing in Infantry, an enemy could take advantage of that. We'll dive into more detail on how to work with your Allegiance in our Importance of Allegiances guide.
Keep an eye on in-game Events: Changes in events can give bonuses or penalties that will greatly impact your Troop types. Make sure to check what Events are running and how long they will last.
Avoid specializing too much: Putting all your efforts into one type of Troop can leave you vulnerable to a counter-attack. It's a good idea to invest in two different types of soldiers at the same time.
Consider splitting your armies: Sometimes it's smart to divide your troops. Send out your Cavalry to gather resources while keeping your Infantry ready for a battle at an enemy Keep.
Conclusion
Game of Thrones Conquest offers a rich and immersive gaming experience. The variety of troops and their unique abilities allows you to build and command a formidable army in your quest to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. Are you prepared to face this challenge? The game is all about strategy, knowing your troops, and using their strengths to your advantage. The more you understand your troops, the closer you get to the Iron Throne. So are you ready to conquer?
