INTRODUCTION TO TROOPS
An Overview of The Troops Used in Guns of Glory
Are you wondering about the strengths and abilities that each troop in Guns of Glory possesses? This article will provide a comprehensive overview of all troop types, helping you strategize your next victorious battle.
Guns of Glory is a real-time strategy game that requires a careful selection of your troops as you march your way towards domination. These units, from stalwart Infantry to powerful Bombardiers, are part and parcel of your strategy, each unique in their abilities.
Infantry
Infantry units are your bread and butter troops. Are they packing special abilities? Yes, they possess a strong defence against cavalry but are vulnerable to ranged units. These soldiers are cost-efficient, giving more bang for your buck.
Cavalry
In contrast, Cavalry units are the fast and agile backbone of any army. Their lightning-quick attacks coupled with high mobility more than make up for their middling defences. A squad of cavalry can help you snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Distance Units
If you believe in the saying, "the best offense is a good defence," Distance Units are your go-to troops. Why you ask? They can attack from behind the lines, staying safe while dealing damage. However, these units are weak against melee attacks, so proper planning for their protection is a must.
Artillery
For those leaning more on the defensive side, Artillery units offer a strong base protection. Their long-range attacks and high damage may be the game-changer you need. Destructive, aren't they? Yet, their slow speed and poor defense are drawbacks that make them a double-edged sword.
Siege Troops
Lastly, Siege troops offer an excellent combination of offense and defense. Are they good at dealing with base defense? Absolutely! They are experts at razing enemy defenses to the ground, but vulnerable to ambush due to their slower pace.
Expertise and Authority in The Game
Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each troop type in Guns of Glory gives you an edge in any match. With the detailed overview given, you can strategically pick and choose your unit composition for a successful campaign. So, ready to take the reins and lead your armies to victory?

Remember, infantry is key for defence, so make sure to boost their defence and health stats. Additionally, giving attack bonuses to your cavalry and distance troops can give you the upper hand in battle. By strategizing and balancing your troops effectively, you'll be on your way to victory!

TROOP STATS BREAKDOWN
In Guns of Glory, troop stats play a huge role in determining the outcome of battles. Other factors like march capacity and troop formation also play a part, but ultimately, troop stats are key. So, how can you make sure your troop stats are at their best? Let's start by checking out your current troop stats.
To view your troop stats, switch your talent tree to War, equip any battle gear you have, set your airship to hostile, and activate any guards that boost attack or defence stats. Next, join a red guard raid with a friend. After the battle, you'll receive a Battle Report detailing your troop stats. Take some time to analyse this report - the devil is in the details when it comes to winning battles.
Since this is a Guide and not a wiki, I'm here to share some tips on boosting your stats. Here are some easy upgrades to consider:
Combat I Research: Many players tend to overlook this early on in the game, focusing on economy and development instead. However, if you're looking to enhance your Troop Stats, this is a great place to start before reaching CS26.
Combat II Research: Once you pass CS26, shift your focus to Combat II Research. It offers better stat bonuses and is often more resource-efficient. Keep that Combat II research tree maxed out for optimal results!
I know these may seem like the most obvious places to start, but they're essential for improving your stats. Let's get those out of the way first!
Upgrade your Glory Banners to improve your Attack, Defence, Health, and Damage Reduction stats! Don't overlook upgrading buildings like the warehouse, as it can give you Army Damage Reduction for just a few banners. Take a closer look at your buildings and upgrade any that require only a small number of Glory Banners for big bonuses.
Make sure you have all 16 Coat of Arms applied and upgraded for even more bonuses! Head to the Catacombs to plunder and trade in coins daily for them, or check out the daily deal for affordable options that refresh weekly. Keep boosting your stats and abilities with these simple upgrades!
Do you ever wonder how to give your Troop Stats a boost? Well, believe it or not, a strong creation can actually improve your troops' abilities! By carefully selecting talents in your creation talent tree, you can enhance Troop Attack, Troop Health, Troop Defence, and even Troop Damage.
And let's not forget about equipment! Outfitting your troops with the right gear can make a huge difference in battle. Matching equipment sets can be further enhanced with Craftsman Tools, giving you the edge you need to win those crucial battles.
As you continue to play and update your game, keep an eye out for equipment sets like Demon Hunter, Retribution, and Sun King. These sets offer valuable Rare Fragment Materials and Design Fragments, making them a valuable addition to your arsenal. So gear up, invest in your creations, and watch your troops rise to new heights!
Gemstones - This might seem obvious, but it's easy to overlook. As you progress in the game, you'll start receiving gemstones for defeating beasts. Initially, you'll get Hope Gems, which are a great beginning. However, as you advance, you'll want to focus on acquiring Justice and Noble Gems. Remember, the game is always changing, so make sure to upgrade your gemstones to their highest level whenever you can.
Guards - Upgrading guards can be a bit challenging, but with some time and effort, you can collect matching sets. Don't worry if getting your guards to 5 stars seems impossible - it's totally doable, especially with recent updates making it easier. By collecting 270 recruitment banners, you'll earn more fragments that will eventually add up and boost your guard's Prowess. When assigning guards for attacks or defence, choose ones that will positively impact your troop stats.
I saved the most challenging task for last because I believe it has the potential for the biggest payoff. If you dedicate your time and focus on it, the rewards will be worth it. Setting this up correctly will lead to even more benefits down the line. If you haven't already optimized this aspect, you might end up pouring all your spare time and energy into getting it upgraded. So, what is it? Your airship. It's one of the most critical components you have, and if it's not configured properly, you may struggle in battles you could otherwise win.
Let's dive in!
Enhance Your Troop Stats with the Right Abilities
Your airship has a range of abilities that can greatly impact your troop stats during battles. To maximize your effectiveness, it's best to focus on enhancing Infantry, Cavalry, and Distance abilities. It's suggested to steer clear of Artillery abilities, as they won't make you as strong.
When attacking other players, reserve the use of artillery for targeting their estate, as it's most useful for reducing trap damage and carrying heavy loads. In general, artillery doesn't have much of a role on the battlefield beyond these specific tasks.
Here are some recommended Airship Attack Abilities to consider:
March Capacity
Distance Devastation II
Distance Devastation III
Cavalry Cannons I
Cavalry Cannons III
Infantry Cover I (Guardian)
Infantry Cover II (Guardian)
These abilities will help you strategize effectively and secure victories in battle. Have fun mastering your airship's potential!
I have a feeling you might have some troop march speed or abilities that affect your artillery, but guess what? You can actually remove them and start winning more battles! While march speed can be helpful in certain situations, it's not really a game-changer in the Spirit Mines, Musketeer Fort, or during PVP battles. Troop speed won't necessarily help you win, it'll just make you march a tad faster.
Instead of focusing on those abilities, it's much smarter to invest in Guardian abilities that offer Infantry damage reduction. These troops are crucial for protecting your cavalry and ranged units, so make sure to prioritize them.
Enhance your airship attack abilities by equipping powerful Gears. Make sure to use your strongest gears during battles to maximize your Attack, assault, and guardian skills.
Don't forget about your Airship and Troop Stats! Take some time to upgrade your airship parts and level up your abilities to make the most of them. You can find these upgrades in the Catacombs daily or purchase them at a low cost in the Deals of the Day every week.
I hope this advice helps you find easy ways to boost your Troop stats and improve your gameplay.
