New Evony Update New General Shaybani, Dragon Gold Wager, Grace of Star Trail & More
Introduction
The latest Evony update brings back the Midsummer Carnival, along with several familiar events, reward opportunities, and two important generals players may want to pay attention to.
In this n ew Evony update, & the new Evony general Shaybani the Historic General Summoning Event still features Presley O’Bannon, while the Revelry Carnival includes the mounted general Shaybani. There are also several event options running alongside the carnival, including Dragon Gold Wager, Hypnos’ Dream, Poseidon’s Day, Grace of Star Trail, Lucky Jackpot, and the upcoming Server War.
This guide breaks down what is currently available, which rewards are worth watching, and whether Shaybani looks like a general worth chasing.
Evony Midsummer Carnival Overview
The main event hub currently shows the Midsummer Carnival Preview, which includes several event sections:
King’s Party Event
Historic General Summoning Event
Midsummer Guardian Package
Revelry Carnival
Gem Purchase Event
Resource Consumption Sprint
Login Rewards
Grace of Star Trail
Dragon Gold Wager
Lucky Jackpot
The big thing to note is that Presley O’Bannon is still the featured general in the Historic General Summoning Event. This suggests Evony may currently be rotating this historic general pool monthly rather than every two weeks, although that may change in future updates.
Historic General Summoning Event: Presley O’Bannon
The Historic General Summoning Event once again confirms Presley O’Bannon as the featured general.
For players who were expecting a new historic general rotation, this means there is no major change here yet. If you were waiting for a different general to enter the pool, it may be worth holding back and seeing whether the next event cycle finally changes the featured general.
At the moment, Presley O’Bannon appears to be continuing from the previous event cycle.
Revelry Carnival General: Shaybani
One of the more interesting parts of this update is the general available through the Revelry Carnival: Shaybani.
Shaybani appears under the mounted troop category in the portrait section and looks like a potentially useful mounted general, especially because of his march size value.
After adding up the available march size buffs, Shaybani appears to offer around 31% total march size when fully developed. This includes:
March size from his main/general attributes
Additional march size from ascension
Extra march size from covenant bonuses
That is a strong number, especially for players focused on larger marches, rallies, or high-end PvP setups.
The main issue is that Shaybani is locked behind the Revelry Carnival, which usually means he may be expensive to obtain and even more expensive to fully develop.
How Much Does Shaybani Cost in Revelry Carnival?
To redeem Shaybani from the Revelry Carnival, players need 720 event brooches.
The exact real-money cost can vary depending on packs, event structure, and what offers are available during the event. However, generals obtained through these types of events are usually not cheap.
For most players, especially free-to-play or light spenders, Shaybani may be more of a “watch from a distance” general rather than a realistic target.
That said, for bigger spenders or players building a serious mounted setup, the 31% march size potential makes him worth looking at.
Is Shaybani Worth It?
Shaybani looks decent because march size is always valuable, especially for:
Rally leads
Mounted attack setups
Battlefield players
Server War players
Players trying to increase total march impact
A 31% march size boost is not something to ignore. However, the question is not just whether Shaybani is good. The bigger question is whether he is good enough to justify the cost.
For most players, the answer will likely be:
Shaybani is strong, but probably only worth chasing if you are already spending heavily or specifically building around premium mounted march size options.
For free-to-play and low-spend players, there are likely better-value ways to improve your account.
Dragon Gold Wager Explained
The Dragon Gold Wager event is also back, and this is one of the more interesting mini-events because it works a bit like blackjack.
The goal is to open coins and build your score without going over the limit.
The reward brackets are based on your total score:
1 to 6 points gives the lowest reward bracket
7 to 10 points gives a better reward bracket
11 to 14 points gives strong rewards
15 points gives the maximum rewards
16+ points means you bust
The aim is to get as close to 15 as possible without going over.
In the example from the video, the first free attempt started with a score of 1, then continued into the 7–10 bracket, and eventually reached 14. At that point, stopping was the safer move because one more bad roll could easily push the score over 15 and ruin the attempt.
The 11–14 bracket can still give useful rewards, including resource chests and historic general fragments, so it is not always worth gambling for the perfect 15.
Should You Gamble for 15 in Dragon Gold Wager?
In most cases, it depends how close you are and how much risk you want to take.
If you are sitting at 11 or 12, it may be tempting to continue. But if you are already at 14, stopping is usually the safer choice because almost any result can make you bust.
The best approach is:
Push early if your score is low
Be cautious once you enter the 11–14 bracket
Only chase 15 if the odds feel worth the risk
Do not waste extra attempts unless the rewards justify it
Since players can usually get free daily attempts, Dragon Gold Wager is worth checking every day during the event.
Grace of Star Trail Rewards
The Grace of Star Trail event is also available and continues to offer some decent rewards.
This event usually includes valuable event currency and reward exchange options. Depending on the current version of the event, players may be able to pick up items connected to generals, officer equipment, resources, speedups, or other premium reward paths.
As always, check the event shop carefully before spending event currency. Some items are far better value than others, and it is easy to waste currency on rewards that look good but do not actually help your account much.
Lucky Jackpot Returns
The Lucky Jackpot event is also back, although this one is heavily luck-based.
Players get a chance to spin and win rewards, but the results can be underwhelming unless you are lucky or spending enough to reach the better reward tiers.
The lower-end rewards are usually not game-changing, while the top-tier rewards generally require a lot more investment. If you are free-to-play or a light spender, it is worth using your free chances but not something to rely on for major progress.
One reward option mentioned is Blood of Ares, but the higher-value sections of this event usually require significant spending or pack purchases.
Other Events Running During the Update
Alongside the Midsummer Carnival, several other events are active or returning, including:
Hypnos’ Dream
Poseidon’s Day
Grace of Star Trail
Lucky Jackpot
Dragon Gold Wager
Battle of Chalons
Server War
Some of these events are better than others. For example, Grace of Star Trail can offer decent rewards, while Poseidon’s Day may not be as appealing depending on your account goals and how much you enjoy that event format.
As always with Evony, the best event is usually the one that gives you meaningful progress without forcing unnecessary spending.
Battle of Chalons Update
The Battle of Chalons is also currently running, with the semifinals and final coming soon.
This is one of the more exciting competitive events in Evony, especially for players who enjoy watching high-level battlefield play. The semifinals and finals are expected to take place over upcoming weekends, making this a good time to follow the event and see how top alliances are playing.
For players looking to improve their own battlefield performance, watching these matches can be extremely useful. You can learn a lot from how top players handle rallies, reinforcements, timing, targets, and battlefield control.
Server War Reminder: Keep Your Shield On
Server War is also active, and the most important reminder is simple:
Make sure your shield is on.
Before deciding whether to participate, it is worth checking the enemy server’s alliance power rankings and strongest players. In this case, the opposing server appears to have several powerful alliances and strong individual players, which means dropping bubble carelessly could be risky.
If the enemy server has strong rally teams, you may only have a few seconds to react after dropping your bubble. Some alliances are slower and give you a little room to move, scout, hit, and re-bubble. Others are extremely fast and can launch a rally almost instantly.
Before attempting solos on your own server during SVS, think carefully about:
How fast the enemy rallies
Whether your alliance can support you
Whether you have a clean escape plan
Whether your bubble timing is safe
Whether the reward is worth the risk
Sometimes the best SVS decision is not to get involved at all.
Top Game Strategies Website Update
Alongside the Evony update, there is also a new project in development: Top Game Strategies.
The website is being built as a central hub for strategy guides across multiple games, including Evony: The King’s Return. Each game page is planned to include beginner guides, advanced strategies, videos, forums, chat rooms, and guide request options.
For Evony specifically, the site will include sections such as:
Start Here guides
Beginner to Pro guides
Keep Upgrade guides
Resource guides
General guides
Duty Officer guides
Strategy videos
Free walkthroughs
Forum discussions
Game-specific chat rooms
The goal is to create a more complete strategy hub where players can find guides, request new topics, and discuss the game with other players.
Top Game Strategies Membership
The planned premium membership for Top Game Strategies is priced at £2.99 per month.
The membership is designed to help support the project while giving members access to additional features, including:

Final Thoughts
The Evony Midsummer Carnival brings a mix of returning events, useful rewards, and one interesting premium general in Shaybani.
The biggest things to watch in this update are:
Presley O’Bannon is still in the Historic General Summoning Event
Shaybani is available through Revelry Carnival
Shaybani appears to offer around 31% march size
Dragon Gold Wager is worth playing carefully each day
Grace of Star Trail has some decent rewards
Lucky Jackpot is back, but heavily luck-based
Server War is active, so keep your shield on
Battle of Chalons semifinals and finals are coming soon
For most players, the best value will come from carefully using free event attempts, checking reward shops before spending, and avoiding unnecessary risk during Server War.
Shaybani looks like a strong march size general, but unless you are a bigger spender, he may not be realistic to chase.
Are you going after Shaybani during the Revelry Carnival, or is he too expensive for what he offers?
Also, how fast is your alliance at sending rallies during SVS? Are you one of those alliances that gives players a few seconds to react, or are your rallies flying almost instantly?
