Here's a concise guide to ensure you're using the top generals for monster rallies on Evony.

Equipping the best generals can greatly enhance your long-term success in Evony, boosting the double drop rate percentage from monsters and accelerating your march speed when returning from rallies. This is especially handy for quickly repositioning all your marches to prepare for the next rally.

These two generals make monster rallies more beneficial

Where can these generals be obtained?

Both characters can be found in the tavern, but obtaining six copies of each can require a hefty gem investment. For the most efficient tavern search, simply activate notifications in the historic general box, and you'll be alerted whenever either of them appears.

Gear and books:

Books: When using Spartacus, a march speed book, a luck book, and a monster respect book are sufficient. However, if you opt for a different general, you’ll need to include an additional monster march speed book specifically for your assistant general.

Gear: Equip a Courageous Dragon Ring to boost double drops. Choose the strongest boots you can afford that provide a march speed bonus, along with the most powerful spear available for an extra march speed increase. Then, add two random pieces of King’s Armor to activate the march speed set bonus. You only need to refine the spear and boots—whether you refine them for monster march speed, normal march speed, or both doesn’t matter, as either will speed up your returning marches.

Why these particular generals?

When participating in rallies, the key stats to focus on are double drop chance and stamina reduction, particularly in larger alliances where stamina can become a significant issue.

It’s worth noting that a 100% double drop rate is equivalent to a 50% stamina reduction, as both effectively double the loot you get per stamina spent.

Spartacus offers a 10% double drop rate and a 10% stamina reduction, which together are roughly comparable to a 30% double drop rate in terms of efficiency.

While many prefer Baibars for his 25% double drop rate, he can’t use a luck book, missing out on an additional 18% double drop potential.

Another strong reason to choose Spartacus is his 75% monster march speed boost. On the other hand, Nathanael Greene’s appeal lies in his straightforward 25% stamina reduction, which matches the value of a 50% double drop rate.

For players with higher VIP levels, who already gain an elevated double drop rate, opting for stamina reduction helps maximize efficiency and avoid wasting stats.

Are there any alternatives?

Sanada Yukimura:

He shares the same double drop chance and stamina reduction stats as others, but his monster march speed takes a hit, losing 20% march speed at three red stars. However, with a fully maxed specialty, Sanada surpasses Spartacus, gaining an extra 20% march speed. That said, maxing out six specialties for monster generals is generally not worth the effort. You can also recruit him from the tavern. 

Maria Theresa:

She likely offers the best mix of stamina reduction and double drop rate, though she’s tough to obtain and can only be used once.
