Battle Machine - Clash of Clans
Battle Machine

The Battle Machine is the very first Hero you'll unlock in the Builder Base! To use this powerful unit, make sure you have a level 5 Builder Hall and 900,000 Builder Elixir on hand to repair and upgrade it.

This tough little guy is a melee fighter with a hammer, ready to smash through buildings at your command. The Master Builder controls this unit, which hangs out on the Battle Machine Altar when it's not busy bashing things.

In higher Builder Hall levels, the Battle Machine can struggle against strong defences like the Mega Tesla. Use it as a tank to shield your main Army and boost their effectiveness. This can really make a difference in the success of your attack!

For optimal efficiency, try using the Electric Hammer right at the end of the Battle Machine's swing, just before it deals damage. This will cancel its auto-attack but allow the next attack to happen without the swing.

A great tactic with the Battle Machine is to pair it with Boxer Giants and Cannon Cart. Start by sending in Boxer Giants to soak up damage, then deploy the Battle Machine. If there are no defences nearby, place the Cannon Cart for extra firepower.

If you're using a Night Witch-based attack, this strategy helps protect them from Mega Mines and Hidden Teslas in the corner, as well as reducing damage taken by the Battle Machine.

If you've unlocked the Battle Machine's ability, a smart strategy is to release it from the base edge and let its ability charge up to level 3. The Electric Hammer remains active until the Battle Machine attacks three times, and the higher the charge level, the stronger the ability becomes. This means the Battle Machine can quickly take down tough defences like Crushers and Double Cannons with a higher charge level.

When the Battle Machine reaches level 15, its ability can jump to other targets at charge levels 2 and 3. The Electric Hammer ability at charge level 3 is especially effective against tightly packed defences.

Electric Hammer is especially effective against Crushers, allowing the Battle Machine to endure a lot of damage and take them out quickly when they're alone. In fact, a Battle Machine can defeat a Crusher of similar strength without even using the ability. So, pick your moments wisely and crush those buildings!

The Battle Machine is a great tank for troops like Sneaky Archers, allowing them to deal damage from behind. It doesn't have a specific target preference, but be careful with Crushers as the AI tends to go after them. Before sending out the Battle Machine, take out the Crushers and nearby buildings to avoid it wandering off track.

Strategies

Offensive Strategy

When the Battle Machine is near tough buildings or crowded spots, try using the Electric Hammer ability for maximum destruction. This can also work well against strong buildings to keep them from causing too much damage for too long.

Be careful not to trigger Electric Hammer when the Battle Machine is facing the Guard Post (unless you really need the health boost), as it would be a waste of damage.

When you deploy the Battle Machine, it starts with the ability charged up to level 1. It takes around 40 seconds to fully charge up to level 3 after activating the ability. Your Battle Machine can currently be upgraded all the way to level 35.

Even though the Battle Machine has a Spring Weight of 25 for Push Traps and Spring Traps, it won't be affected by them at all. And when the ability is activated at max level, the next 2 attacks will unleash chain lightning, similar to an electro dragon.

Keep in mind, unlike other heroes, the Battle Machine won't defend your base - no matter what the Master Builder is up to. But don't worry, at level 5, the Battle Machine gains the Electric Hammer ability. This lets it stun enemies, heal, and deal extra damage for its next three attacks. As you level up, this ability gets even stronger every five levels. So get ready to unleash some serious power with your Battle Machine!

The Electric Hammer ability has three charge levels based on how long you wait to use it. The higher the charge level, the more damage and health regeneration it provides. Once your Battle Machine reaches level 15, charge levels 2 and 3 also allow your attacks to jump to nearby targets, though the damage decreases with each jump.

As a tip, consider letting your troops damage the enemy base before sending in the Battle Machine to finish off the remaining buildings or destroy the Builder Hall if it's still standing. For instance, you can pair an all Baby Dragon attack with the Battle Machine to clear out a big chunk of the base and take out any ground defences that could pose a threat to the Battle Machine.

If you're planning on going all-air with your attack, it's important to watch out for Double Cannons that can easily take down your Battle Machine if it's sent in with the rest of your troops. To avoid this, it's best to deploy the Battle Machine later in the attack to target the core or take out outside buildings for extra damage.

Remember, if there's another building present, hold off on using the ability until the buildings are destroyed. This way, you can save the damage bonus for more challenging structures like strong walls.

Defensive Strategy

Protective Defences: Cannons, Double Cannons, and the Mega Tesla are awesome for dealing heavy damage to the Battle Machine from afar. Make sure to place them strategically behind Walls and distraction buildings to prevent the Battle Machine from targeting them.

Crush Those Crushers: Keep Crushers well defended to prevent ranged troops from easily destroying them. Crushers can dish out a lot of damage to the Battle Machine and Boxer Giants, so keep them safe!

If you're using Drop Ships, the Skeletons they drop can help distract ground defences, allowing the Battle Machine to support the main attack without being quickly defeated. Just be careful not to place troops directly behind the Battle Machine, as they can all be wiped out by splash damage from Defences and Traps like Mega Mines and the Multi Mortar.
